Children’s National Hospital

-Clinical Research Assistant (2022)-

As a CRA for Children’s National Hospital, I perform a variety of research, data, and clerical duties to support the conduct of IMPACT DC’s clinical research studies under Dr. Stephen Teach. I use functional knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) regulations, and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations to deliver care and perform administrative tasks.

Part of my duties includes identifying, recruiting, and educating participants that meet eligibility requirements for various studies. I go over consent documents with study participants, perform vitals, and prepare necessary documents, equipment, and supplies for research visits. My position also involves conducting document visits and protocol-specific testing/interviews according to study protocol, operational plans of clinical departments, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for minimal risk studies or for other studies. I also assist in maintaining regulatory documents per sponsor and institutional requirements and the planning and coordination of research specimen collection and shipping.
